Hey there!

My name is James Legins and I am a personal trainer at Sculpt Fitness. I’ve
played sports from elementary school through college and continue to play soccer in
two different adult leagues. I ran cross country and track collegiately for Winston-Salem
State University while earning a Sports Management degree. During my senior year I
realized that I didn’t desire a 9-5 job where I would be confined to an office all day. I
decided to put my knowledge and skills to use as a track & field coach.

In the spring of 2011 I became a USA Track & Field (USATF) Level 1 coach and
started my first year of coaching. One of my duties was to supervise the weight room
sessions. I started graduate school in the spring of 2012 at the University of Akron and
became an assistant coach for the Walsh Jesuit High School (WJ) girls track and cross
country teams. In 2013 I graduated from U of A with a Masters in Sports Science &
Coaching and continued to coach WJ through the 2015 track season. During the
2015-2016 season I was a volunteer assistant cross country and track coach for
Baldwin Wallace University. In the fall of 2016 I returned to WJ as an assistant cross
country and track & field coaching position.

In 2014 I became a National Academy Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer
(NASM CPT). Every season I’ve coached I experience great joy when an athlete notices
their strength gains. The more I helped the athletes reach their goals of strength and
personal records on the track, the more I realized I wanted help others reach their
fitness goals. I am enthusiastic about assisting and working with individuals on reaching
their goals, and enjoy the growth they experience throughout the process!

What I bring to the table in helping both men and women in the Akron and Medina area achieve their fitness goals is someone who understands what it takes to set a goal and work towards it. With hard work, consistency and always trying to do better than the day before, you and I together will make positive strides towards getting you looking and feeling your very best!
